In mountain's secluded nooks, someone dwells,
Draped in ivy, with vine-woven belts.
With a glance so tender, a smile so fine,
Admiring me deeply, graceful and divine.
Riding a red panther, following the lynx,
In a car of magnolia, with banners of sphinx.
Adorned with orchids and fragrant sweet rue,
Picking scented blooms, thoughts with you imbue.
In dense bamboo groves, hidden from the sky,
On treacherous paths, alone, I pass by.
High upon the mountain, alone, I stand,
Clouds envelop me, lower over the land.
In the deep mystery, where daylight fades,
East winds carry rain, as spirit pervades.
Remaining in this spiritual realm, forgetting to return,
Years pass, who will for me yearn?
Gathering exotic herbs in mountain's heart,
Rocks piled high, where ivies start.
Lamenting for my love, forgetful of return,
You think of me, but leisure you spurn.
In the mountain, I live like a fragrant herb,
Drinking from stone springs, under pine and cypress superb.
You think of me, but doubt may sway.
Thunder roars, rain blurs the day.
Monkeys cry, night-owls sing,
Winds whisper, trees in sorrow cling.
Thinking of my love, alone with my distress,
A heart full of longing, and endless duress.
